Jon Bon Jovi
Jon Bon Jovi and family celebrating his son's 6th birthday at Buck's Fishing & Camping restaurant on Sunday. The rocker (vest and leather jacket with inlaid leather red eagle) was in town for Monday's concert at Verizon Center. His lead guitarist, Richie Sambora (wearing all black), showed up at the National Portrait Gallery on Monday; spent most of his time in the Civil War and America's Presidents exhibits.

Bon Jovi tour pauses in D.C.; paging President Bon Jovi?
It’s entirely fitting that the first leg of Bon Jovi’s 2010 ‘The Circle’ tour should come to a close at a sold out Verizon Center tonight in Washington, D.C. You see, President Barack Obama, fresh from a victory on health care reform legislation and a lightening trip to Afghanistan over the weekend, just might be too tired to govern; and, since Jon Bon Jovi is in town, perhaps he could fill in for Obama at the Big House for a couple hours after his show.
Which raises the question, when the 2010-11 tour cycle is over and the last spotlight goes out and the equipment goes into storage, what on earth does Jon Bon Jovi do for an encore?
Oh sure, there will be the usual ‘The Circle Tour’ DVD releases, perhaps another CD anthology and the Greatest Hits compilation the band still owes Island Records since they substituted 'Lost Highway' for it back in 2006. But as Bon Jovi sits in his hotel room this afternoon before the show, celebrating his son Romeo’s birthday and then rocking out with him at the show, fans have to wonder what will happen when the tireless rocker’s third tour in four years ends.
The void felt by Jovi Nation will be immense. Men will go into withdrawal, and women the world over will begin to tremble and shake as though all the chocolate in the world had disappeared from the face of the earth.
Politics, anyone?
Paging Mayor Bon Jovi, paging Mayor Bon Jovi: you’re wanted in Newark. Perhaps it will be Senator Bon Jovi from the great state of Jersey; or, even Vice-Presidential candidate Jon Bon Jovi? Somehow, sitting-on-the-couch-watching-the-kids-and-the-barn-sized-flat screen-TV-while-sucking-down-a-brewski pose just doesn't fit Jon Bon Jovi.
Really now, did you have to spit your soda through your nose at the thought of that?! You see, it’s not as far-fetched as you would think…
What does an egomaniac rock musician who is used to stirring the hearts and minds of the public, kissing women and babies, and endless touring from town-to-town every couple days to keep up that kind of routine?
Why, they go into local or national politics!
Sure nobody as high profile in rock music as Bon Jovi has done it; but, Sonny Bono wasn’t nearly half as popular as Jon Bon Jovi nor as well-connected, and he was successfully elected to office as a Republican from California; there’s comedian Al Franken, formerly of ‘Saturday Night Live’, Fred Thompson from television’s ‘Law and Order’ series, Fred Gandy from ‘Love Boat’ fame, and the ultimate transition from performer to President, one Ronald Reagan.
So while Jovi Nation would be in mourning forever and always, it’s important to remember that Jon Bon Jovi at this stage of his life has exceeded what he set out to achieve in the music industry.
During the last five years through his charitable efforts with the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, Bon Jovi has built key relationships with movers and shakers in the sports world and politics, among them Newark Mayor Cory Booker; designer Kenneth Cole; the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, The Corporation For National and Community Service, and, has campaigned for former Vice President Al Gore during his presidential run, as well as President Barack Obama...to name just a few.
In addition to campaigning for Obama and performing at his inauguration, Bon Jovi has met with both Obama and former President Bill Clinton to discuss homeless and joblessness issues and initiatives. And in a private audience with the newly elected President Obama around the time of the inauguration, the President and his aides asked Bon Jovi to scribble down the words to 'Work for The Workin' Man' because of the fierce message about joblessness in the song.
Clearly Jon Bon Jovi has successfully managed his own brand for the past 26 years, building it from nothing into one of the most successful and enduring rock bands in the history of modern music. Just imagine what that talent, energy, vision, and ego could do for the United States of America.
Jovi Nation, we'd better enjoy the next leg and remainder of 'The Circle' tour because if he decides he wants to try his hand at something else, it just might be the last concert stage we see Jon Bon Jovi on for a long, long, time.

BON JOVI: el concierto gratuito en el Wachovia Center, Philadelphia
El concierto comenzó a las 18 hrs en punto como estaba planeado para el día de hoy miércoles 24 de marzo. Fué transmitido por la 93.3 WMMR en vivo desde el Wachovia Center en Philadelphia.
Todos estaban de muy buen ánimo y luego de los primeros acordes el locutor de la radio se acerca al escenario para hacerles algunas preguntas y de buen humor respondieron, en el caso de Jon; por qué a esta altura de su carrera iban a hacer una gira tan larga, por más de treinta países… y Jon contestó ” Bueno… él está divorciado (por David), él también…” (presumiblemente señalando a Richie) y Richie añadió “… tengo que buscar a mi próxima ex?-esposa”…

Bon Jovi: Una nueva serie de televisión basada en la historia de Livin ‘on a Prayer

Yo he sido fan de Bon Jovi desde que la banda salió con Livin ‘on a Prayer, y aquí estamos casi veinticinco años después de aquel suceso, y dentro de poco Tommy y Gina llegarán a la pantalla chica en la televisión a través de una serie.
La canción cuenta la historia de una pareja de jóvenes tratando de ganarse la vida cuando las cosas no son tan fáciles debido a la falta de trabajo. Una canción que parece resonar en la gente sin importar el año, y probablemente aún le encuentran mayor significado debido a la actual economía que global.
La noticia de la serie fue conocida el día de hoy, y aparecerá en la CBS. Tommy está dispuesto a ser interpretado por Kyle Bornheimer y Gina será llevada a la vida por Lindsay Sloane. Haz escuchado algo de estos dos actores? En la serie Tommy no tendrá un trabajo estable pero es quien cree en el amor de pareja. Gina es la que tiene sueños de hacer algo grande que la lleven a dejar su trabajo de camarera. La serie será una comedia para CBS.
